IMG participated in the Energy Conference organized by the US Trade Mission to Southeast

The US Clean EDGE Trade Mission on Clean Energy is visiting Asian countries and Vietnam from June 6-13. In Vietnam, the delegation discussed bilateral commitments focusing on clean energy, and held meetings with potential partners, distributors and investors.

Mrs. Pamela Phan, deputy assistant secretary for Asia at the International Trade Administration, US Department of Commerce led the delegation. Accompanying the delegation were the director of the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) Enoh Ebong and a representative of the US Export-Import Bank. The delegation attended working sessions with senior leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Economic Commission.

“This is an important moment for Vietnam as this vibrant and fast-growing economy moves towards a greener future,” said Deputy Assistant Minister Pamela Phan. “The presence of American companies on this historic mission is a reflection of our deep commitment to helping Vietnam achieve its climate, energy and sustainable development goals.”

During the meetings, Deputy Assistant Minister Pamela Phan also praised Vietnam's decision to participate in a new economic cooperation initiative called "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity". (IPEF), a top priority of the US administration to increase US private sector participation in the region.

She also discussed US investment priorities and programs in the energy and climate sectors, as well as the importance of securely sharing data across borders.

Enoh Ebong said: “USTDA has accompanied the development of Vietnam's energy industry for more than 25 years. This trade mission also demonstrates the great potential of Vietnam in becoming a pioneer in clean energy in the region. Working with US industry, USTDA intends to build a portfolio of activities focused on sustainable infrastructure to support Vietnam's dynamic economic growth and help Vietnam achieve its long-term goals. climate long".

The Export-Import Bank of America is committed to financing American goods and services in support of clean energy projects in Vietnam. “EXIM has worked with Vietnam on a number of other transactions to finance the purchase of US goods and services in the transportation and equipment sectors and looks forward to continuing to work in Vietnam to support these efforts. future clean energy initiatives”, said Chrisstopher Day, Senior Vice President of EXIM.

During the mission, Deputy Assistant Minister Pamela Phan also discussed with representatives of the private sector to collect comments on opportunities to strengthen trade relations, overcome challenges faced by enterprises. The US is facing in the Vietnamese market.
