CONVENIENT TRADE THANKS TO 3 BRIDGES CONNECTING HO CHI MINH CITY – LONG AN – TIEN GIANG
Specifically, the Prime Minister approved investment in 3 bridges including: Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong, Vam Co Tay. Located on the road connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang. The total investment is more than 4,797 billion VND. Of which, Korean ODA loan is equivalent to 4,060 billion VND and counterpart capital is about 736 billion VND. All 3 bridges are expected to start construction in 2026.
Meanwhile, the approach roads at both ends of these 3 bridges are separated into a separate project. Using local budget capital, the province will proactively carry out the work first. Currently, Long An is carrying out the inventory and marking from January 2025 to start site clearance.

Accordingly, the project has a total length of nearly 11km. The scale is 4 lanes with an investment of about 1,433 billion VND. The Provincial Traffic Project Management Board is completing the documents. It is expected that in November 2024, the project will be submitted to the Ministry of Transport for appraisal. In July 2025, the contractor will be selected and construction will start in September 2025.
The cost of site clearance and access roads to the 3 bridges is about 1,607 billion VND. Currently being submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. And compensation, site clearance, and resettlement support will be paid to people from January 2025.
3 bridges contribute to forming the road connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tien Giang
The investment in the construction of these 3 bridges. Contribute to connecting the International Port to the Southwestern Provinces in the shortest time. Strengthen the connection between the Mekong Delta provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. Reduce traffic pressure on National Highways 1, 50, and N2. Meet the increasing demand for transporting goods and raw materials in the region.
When the route connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, and Tien Giang is completed. It will stimulate and develop Long An's key economic sectors such as aquaculture, processing, and export. Build infrastructure, attract investment capital. Promote the development of industrial parks, warehouses for rent, and urban areas along the route.
