The Long An industrial park market has been growing strongly in recent times, thanks to its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh. In addition, Long An industrial parks benefit greatly from playing the role of a bridge to the Mekong Delta provinces and distribution and logistics centers in the Southern region.
Introducing Long An Industrial Park Market
Long An is a province located in the Mekong Delta region, about 45km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) along National Highway 1A. The province has a favorable location in the transition area between the Southeast and the Southwest when possessing waterway and road traffic routes. In particular, with Long An international seaport - the center of import and export of goods in the Mekong Delta region and Binh Hiep international border gate - where trade is directly connected with Prey-Voa international border gate in Cambodia. As of August 2021, the whole province has 58 industrial parks and clusters that have approved infrastructure investment policies with a total area of about 13,500 hectares. Of which, 16 industrial parks have been put into operation, with an area of about 2,385 hectares, attracting 1,664 projects, the leased land area is nearly 720 hectares, the occupancy rate of operating industrial clusters is nearly 90% of the area. Of the 1,664 projects, Long An industrial parks received an investment capital of 4,856 million USD from 802 foreign investment projects.
The border economic zone alone has received investment capital of up to 75 million USD from 02 foreign investment projects with a land lease area of 21.2 hectares and 02 domestic investment projects with a land lease area of 0.66 hectares. In the period of 2021-2030, Long An province continues to develop water and land transport infrastructure, zoning for industrial development as well as introducing many timely support policies and appropriate adjustments for current and future investors. However, for new-generation investor groups aiming to produce high-tech industrial products, Long An industrial parks have not fully met the demand, due to limitations in technology, unsynchronized infrastructure, as well as very high occupancy rates, and rental prices are no longer attractive.
