Love affair with Russia

Living and studying in Russia for 9 years not only gave musician Le Tu Minh knowledge, experience, and qualifications; but also nurtured his sensitive soul. Later, when he became a successful businessman, busy with work, he still composed regularly, especially poetry and music.

Le Tu Minh's life story has many twists and turns, in many "roles": studying economics and then being recruited as a lecturer at the Air Defense - Air Force Academy, studying abroad in the Soviet Union and defending his doctoral thesis, being discharged from the army and becoming a successful businessman. He is currently the Chairman of IMG Investment Joint Stock Company. In the midst of stressful business hours, Le Tu Minh turned to composing poetry and music.

He has translated more than 40 Russian songs into Vietnamese; including famous songs such as: “Hello Mom”, “Hoa kalina dang bong”, “Dan séo”... Many foreign songs have been successfully translated into Vietnamese, including the song “Bonjour Vietnam” (Hello Vietnam) which has now become very familiar.

Many of his poems have been composed by famous musicians such as Do Hong Quan, Duc Trinh, Xuan Phuong, Tuan Phuong...; among them, the poem “Nha em o sung doi” was composed by Major General, musician Duc Trinh and has become famous and familiar to audiences nationwide.

Singer Anna Aglatova, one of the most beautiful sopranos in Russia, performed two romances “Resurrection” and “Returning to Mother” by composer Le Tu Minh. The third piece “Oi con song Vam Co” for cello filled with gentle and clear sounds, performed by artist Boris Lifanovsky, conductor of the Bolshoi Theater’s Cello Quartet, with the orchestra.

When the performance ended, composer R. Kalimullin invited musician Le Tu Minh to the stage. Emotional applause resounded throughout the large auditorium. Many spectators stayed after the concert to congratulate the two musicians R. Kalimullin and Le Tu Minh. Businessman Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, was very moved and said: “We hope that there will be more and more cultural activities of Vietnamese people like today”.
